I had built a diffuser for my pop-up flash so that I could use the flash without getting the "flashy" look. Using the histogram as a reference I adjusted the EV until the exposure was good.

slight adjustment to WB in ACR,
small levels adjustments for shadows, highlights & midtones in PS
So good!!!
