Calibrating is a must if you expect consistent results in printing. I chose to buy the X-rite eye-one display 2 and found out that my monitor was pretty spot on, but it does tend to vary a bit over time and I need to trust what my eyes are seeing since I have Sentiments by Sarah where color matching is key. I was completely clueless on how to make the thing work, but these two sets of instructions were SO helpful.
