Nikon D90, 50mm 1.8 - shot in RAW
Aperture Priority, No Flash, ISO 200, SS 1/40, f/2.8
AF-S, Spot Metering, WB adjusted to B3
Today is just a picture...a RAW file taken into ACR and then converted to a JPG, no fiddling.

post-processing
no PP, although I tried. With the luck I had last week with clarity & vibrance I had to try them again, but they made the image TOO sharp with added clarity, and vibrance just made their skin glow yellow. I also slid clarity & vibrance all the way to -100% just to see and the eyes still stayed clear & sharp.
they look so beautiful!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThese look really good! Can you explain how you set your WB to B3?
ReplyDelete@Greg - this is for the Nikon D90 (but I'm sure other Nikon models are similar) To adjust the WB to sun, shade, tungsten, etc you hold the WB button and turn the back dial. To adjust the WB a smidge warmer or cooler you hold the WB button and turn the front dial (one way is warmer (A) and the other cooler (B). It allows you to make smaller adjustments and I'm starting to use it quite frequently now to get my LCD to display what my eyes see. One of these days I'm going to try custom WB with a gray card.
ReplyDeleteI so needed your skills tonight at Laci's dance recital. Had no idea what setting to put my camera on for good stage pics from the dim lit auditorium etc..! Teaches me a lesson I suppose - those who refuse to read instruction manuals cannot complain I guess...
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Awesome work!!
ReplyDeleteI'm familiar with the sun, shade, etc, but did not know about making the smaller WB adjustments. I will have to try that. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePS I have a D90 also. I have discussed the D90 with you on CM.
@Greg - I thought it might be you, but wasn't for sure without a profile. Try it out, I find it really useful for indoor shots with weird mixed lighting.
